They are the perfect height for my high top table. They were easy to assemble, are sturdy and look great. We use these with a high top table for wine/appetizers, so I havnen’t had any issues with smudges. Since they are made from wood, they will scratch, but not very easiy. The black paint/coating makes them very functional. When I bought them, I thought they would be a temporary solution for the room, but they have held up and look great – I’ve had them for over three years with no plans on replacing them. Great value for the price!
